A slip-on loafer covers both. This one has a soft suede-look upper with moc stitching around the toe, a low, plain heel and a thick pale sole. Inside there is a cushioned insole and a lining.

Suede-look is not suede. It will not develop a patina, and like suede it is best kept out of the rain. On dry days in town, that matters very little.

Without socks, with navy trousers cropped at the ankle, at a harbourside lunch.
